PBSI's Medical Billing Training Program is an intense five day class geared toward preparing associates for
entry into the medical office environment. The class typically runs from
8:00 AM on the first day, 8:30AM everyday thereafter, until 4:30PM.
Classes are held on a Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Monday, Wednesday schedule. Skills covered in class are:
- Medical office front desk procedures: customer service, appointment
scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, and patient registration
- Medical billing functions: charge entry, claims submission, payment
posting, and A/R follow up
- Introduction to medical terminology
- ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding
All candidates are required to pass four assessments with a minimum score of
80%.
Your first goal after completing the training program is to build your resume
with relevant work experience. Depending on your prior experience and
performance in class, the positions you may be placed in include:
- Medical Office Clerical Positions (medical records, data entry, etc.)
- Front Desk Positions (receptionist, appointment scheduler, patient
registrar, etc.)
- Medical Billing (charge entry, payment posting, A/R follow up, etc.)
