PBSI has an extensive screening process that all experienced candidates must go through.  It requires a serious commitment from you and our staff, usually an investment of about two hours.  It allows us to best match you with the positions we have available.  Here's how it works:

1.  prescreening.  This process involves a variety of steps:  the initial phone call,  resume review, interview scheduling, and computer skills evaluation.

2.  testing.  Each experienced candidate is tested on his/her medical billing knowledge based on their past work experience.  We have several assessments in all areas of medical billing including:  Customer Service, Appointment Scheduling, Check In/Check Out/Reception, Patient Registration, Charge Entry, Claim Submission, Payment Posting, and A/R Follow and Coding.  There is also a Hospital Billing test and a Claims Adjudication test for those with experience in related fields.  Click here to see some sample questions

3.  the interview.  We spend time with each applicant to fully understand the type of position you are seeking.  Your education, experience, and training all impact PBSI's decision when referring you to clients.  But we also want to know what motivates you, what you want to do, and where you feel you will be successful.

4.  matching.  Based on all the information we have gathered, PBSI wants to match you with the best position we have available for you.  We will review the positions with you and find out in which you would be interested.  We then send your resume to that client with a description of your strengths and salary expectations.

5.  client interview & feedback.  Most of our clients will want to interview you before you start.  This is your opportunity to sell yourself.  It also gives you a chance to see if the position is a good fit for you.  We immediately follow up with the clients to get their thoughts on how the interview went.  If both parties are interested, we  will arrange for you to start working.  If the client does not think it is a good fit, we will provide you with valuable feedback as to why not and explore other opportunities.
